For your convenience AOL provides a number of registration options: (1) With a CD Package, (2) Through our online sign-up process or (3) By phone at 1-888-265-4979. What payment options does AOL offer?
You may pay for your AOL service with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express or with a pre-authorized chequing account.

How will I be billed for AOL?
Upon completion of your AOL free trial membership, AOL will bill your credit card or chequing account on your billing anniversary date for the month coming. For example, if you registered for AOL through the 45 day free trial membership on March 1st, your first billing date will be on April 15th and you will continue to be billed monthly on the 15th of each month thereafter.

What are communication charges?
AOL has an extensive selection of access numbers in calling areas across Canada. However, telecommunication surcharges do apply if the access number you choose is outside your local calling area (i.e. a long distance call or toll call). Depending on your location, telephone charges may be less expensive than the use of an 800 number. We recommend that you check with your telephone service providers to determine applicable rates.

What are the minimum system/hardware requirements for AOL?
To run AOL version 9.0, your computer must meet the requirements outlined below.
† AOL 9.0 is not available for Windows 3.1, Windows NT, Windows 95 and Macintosh.

- Operating System (Windows 98 or higher)
- 64 to 128 MB of free RAM space
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (IE 6.0 will be included in the download if you have a lower version)
- 420 MB of free hard drive space
- 600x800 screen resolution (1024x768 for optimal viewing)

How do I install the AOL software on my computer?
You may install the AOL software from an AOL CD-ROM package or directly from our website, if this option is available to you.

Installing the AOL software from a CD-ROM

  1. Insert the AOL CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
  2. Windows User: If installation does not begin automatically click Start on the task bar (Windows 3.1† users click on the File menu of your Windows Program Manager) and select Run. Type in D:\Setup (or E:\Setup) and Press OK. Macintosh Users: For AOL 4.0 double-click on the install icon.
  3. Follow the easy, step-by-step instructions.
    † AOL 8 .0 is not available for Windows 3.1, Windows NT, Windows 95 and Macintosh.
