Adding a Page

Adding your home pages to our communities is easy. First, click The 1-2-3 Publish or Easy Designericon on the main page. If you are using the AOL software you will be logged in automatically, if not you will need to sign in.

You'll create your page with 1-2-3 Publish or Easy Designer and it will automatically be added to the AOL Hometown community for all to see.

Reminder: You can create or upload as many pages as you wish as long as they fit in your Web space.

Confirming that Your Page Has Been Added

The first time you add a home page to AOL Hometown, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail message.

Uploading a Page

If you want your pages to be seen by other people, your Web pages need to be uploaded to your Web space on AOL. A list of your uploaded pages will appear at Keyword: MY FTP SPACE, and you can add to these if you want.

1-2-3 Publish: If you created your home page using 1-2-3 Publish (Keyword: 123Publish for AOL members), your page is automatically uploaded and published when you click Save. Saved pages are also automatically added to an AOL Hometown community. If your page doesn't appear in the list, be sure to click Save when using 1-2-3 Publish.

Easy Designer:If you created your home page using Easy Designer (Keyword: Easy Designer for AOL members), your page is automatically uploaded and published when you Save your page. You will see a confirmation page and receive an email. Saved pages are also automatically added to an AOL Hometown community. If your page doesn't appear in the list, be sure to save when using Easy Designer.

Why Aren't My Pages Listed?

If you've created a home page that you'd like to add to AOL Hometown, but the page isn't listed at Step 1 of the Add process, you'll need to make sure you've actually published or uploaded that page. Only pages that have been uploaded to your AOL Web space will be listed. Follow this checklist to find your missing pages:

* If you created your home page using 1-2-3 Publish or Easy Designer, your page is automatically uploaded and published when you click Save. Saved pages are also automatically added to an AOL Hometown community. If your page doesn't appear in the list, be sure to click Save when using 1-2-3 Publish or Easy Designer.

I Added My Home Page to AOL Hometown but I Can't Find It?

If you don't see your pages listed, first make sure you've completed the process to add your page to AOL Hometown and received the confirmation message. Please allow a few minutes for your page to be added to AOL Hometown. Then check to make sure that you're browsing in the right community.

Your URL or Home Page Address

When you create your page with 1-2-3 Publish or Easy Designer you'll see a link with the address of your page. Make a note of this so that you can share your page with everyone you know In addition, when you visit your page there will be an "email this page" button which will allow you to send your page to others.

Removing Pages

Removing your Hometown page is not possible at the moment. You can replace your page with other templates, by saving over your current page, but you will not be able to delete the page.
