Changing Passwords

You are able to change the password associated with the screen name from your wireless device, even if the screen name is shared with an AOL® account or other AIM clients. Changing this password effects all AIM logins with the same screen name.

If you change the password for  your screen name using your phone, the new password will immediately work with AIM Mobile and AIM Express. The new password will not work with your AOL® account, which will still require your old password, and you will have to separately change the saved password for AIM on your PC. To avoid potential problems signing in to AOL® and other versions of AIM, do not change your screen name or password from your phone.

Changing Your Password
To begin, go to the List Menu and select AIM Options.

On the AIM Options page select Change Password.

Type your current password and select OK. Changing this password applies to all logins with the same screen name. To avoid potential problems signing in to AOL® and other versions of AIM, do not change your screen name or password from your phone.

Type the new password and select OK.

Retype the new password and select OK to confirm it.

AIM displays a message to confirm your password has changed. Select OK to continue.
