What Is AIM Chat?
The Chat feature lets you exchange messages with several of your buddies in your own private chat rooms. You can start your own chat room, or you can join popular chat rooms such as Health Chat, Entertainment Chat, Romance Chat, Computing Chat, and a host of others that interest you. You can only send a chat invitation, receive a chat invitation, and join a chat room using your primary screen name (the screen name you used to sign on).
Using Chat, you can:

Invite buddies to a chat room.
Create hyperlinks in a chat message.
Insert emoticons in a chat message.
Save chat messages to a file to read offline or to just keep in your files.

Note: Only AOL Instant Messenger users can chat in public chat rooms.
